An unprecedented recognition that elevates Bucrana TAU as the most outstanding wine from its Designation of Origin at an international level.
Toro, September 23, 2025 – The Bucrana winery has written a new golden chapter in the history of Spanish wine. Its acclaimed Bucrana Tau 2019 has been awarded the coveted Grand Gold medal and the distinction of “Best of Show Toro” at the prestigious Mundus Vini Summer Tasting 2025 international competition, held in Germany. This double recognition positions it not only as one of the eight Spanish wines to achieve Grand Gold, but also as the undisputed jewel of the Toro Designation of Origin in this edition. The jury, made up of 120 international experts, evaluated more than 1,800 wines. Among them, Bucrana Tau 2019 stood out for its authenticity and personality, the result of a demanding vineyard and careful production. Bucrana TAU, made from 100% Tinta de Toro and aged for 15 months in new French oak barrels, has a powerful and elegant profile: intense cherry red, aromas of black fruit, spices, and mineral notes, with a long and silky finish. A limited production of 12,807 bottles reinforces its exclusive character. In addition to this stellar triumph, the winery has also been recognized with a Gold Medal for Bucrana Crianza 2021, consolidating Bucrana’s mastery in producing wines that capture the essence and unique character of the D.O. Toro. With these awards, the winery reinforces its position on the international scene and contributes to consolidating the prestige of Toro wines, which are increasingly recognized around the world.
